Lexington BBQ Battle

I started competing in BBQ cookoff competitions this year under the team name Liquid Smoke (It's a joke, alright?) So far, however, it's been a team of one since I haven't conned anyone into helping me. 

The Lexington BBQ Battle, a Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned event was held on June 19. I took the Reserve Grand Champion Title for accumulating the second highest total point score. Click on the image at the right for some pictures.

A laid back contest in a beautiful location. We managed to take Reserve Grand Champion

We didn't take state champion but we did win first place in two of the four categories. We also came within spitting distance of the Team of the Year trophy finishing 10 points behind the Yahoos.

This year there were two events sanctioned by KCBS as a MA State Championship. Lance and the Yahoos became double state champs. They took Grand Champion and Liquid Smoke took Reserve Grand Champion
